From Assistant Delegate to Delegate
Written by Maddie Helmick, a member of Pi Beta Phi and the chapter's Assistant Delegate to the Panhellenic Council.
Anna Jaggears. Lively! Ecstatic! Encouraging! Having Anna in my life has been one of the biggest blessings. Anna is the Vice President of Communications for Pi Beta Phi and the Panhellenic Delegate representing Pi Beta Phi. She is a very involved member and is very passionate about her work. If you have ever talked to Anna, you probably left the conversation with a smile on your face. Personally, I believe Anna is the most dependable friend I have here at the University of Georgia. I call her about every three hours just to rant about the Athens traffic or to tell her a funny story.
She has led me to one of the greatest organizations I have been a part of—the Panhellenic Council. Acting as Anna’s assistant for the past year has been everything but boring. My favorite past time is editing Anna’s papers for class or newsletters for Pi Beta Phi. Her personality pours into her writing, and she puts exclamation points after almost every sentence, but that’s okay because I know she is excited about what she is writing about.
Anna is a Special Education major and has a unique passion for helping children with disabilities. Despite waking up at 5am every morning to drive to her student teaching position, she returns home in a positive mood. Anna’s optimistic attitude radiates to the people around her and she has a contagious laugh that easily fills a room. If you ever have the chance to listen to one of her stories, I suggest you listen. Being a member of Pi Beta Phi would not be the same if it weren’t for sweet Anna Jaggears.
