Celebrating Sisterhood Through Betaroo
Gamma Phi Beta is prepping for a day filled with music, laughter, and sisterhood. On March 21, we are setting aside time for our sisters to spend an afternoon at our sisterhood event called Betaroo.
Our Education Vice President, Caroline Worthy, has planned this year’s Betaroo and many sisters are looking forward to this year’s event. She has spent the time to plan an event our sisters will remember and enjoy. Betaroo, based off of the theme of Bonaroo, is an event that all of our sisters look forward to each spring. Sisters have the chance to dress trendy, take candid and other pictures with their fellow sisters and a vintage Volkswagen van, enjoy the banner our wonderful sister paints, and sit on the front lawn enjoying music and food.
Sophomore Callie Petersen loves the event and stated, “I love that we have such nice neighbors that let us borrow their trendy Volkswagen van because it’s a great backdrop for fun pictures."Some years the event has featured sisters singing and performing, with everyone singing and dancing along. It’s a time set aside to spend together enjoying the company of one other and making memories.
Last year’s Betaroo event was a big success and sisters loved the time they got to spend dancing with each other, listening to a band, and taking time to reconnect with sisters. It’s an event where we can step away from our busy lives and enjoy our sisterhood. As each sister gets ready for the event, older sisters will remember past Betaroo events they have attended, and our newest members will have a chance to experience this fun sisterhood event for the first time.
