Alpha Chi Omega's Barefoot on the Lawn
On Wednesday, September 21st, Alpha Chi Omega will be holding their annual philanthropy event, Barefoot on the Lawn. There will be fun live music and delicious fried chicken served to all who attend! Tickets will be sold by all Alpha Chi Omega members, as well as at the door. T-shirts can be bought for $15, and all of the money raised will be donated to a local cause that supports the sorority's national philanthropy, Domestic Violence Awareness. Their local partner is Project Safe, a non-profit organization that works to stop domestic violence through educational programs, crisis intervention, and more. The organization also supports survivors and works on advocacy programs to help the community. This is done in many different ways, such as providing a safe house for people in need of immediate help, providing a hotline for people in need of answers, as well as a thrift store to create funds that will go directly towards helping the organization. Alpha Chi Omega has been involved in many different ways. Some of these include dropping off food for women living in the safe house and working at the thrift shop to sort clothes and offer a helping hand. They also have members who intern for Project Safe, devoting many hours each week to the cause. There are so many different ways to get involved in this local organization, and the girls in Alpha Chi Omega have been involved in many different aspects. Please come out and support this amazing cause, while eating some great food and enjoying even better company!
