Alpha Delta Pi Spotlight
ADPi is so proud of one of their very own, Bailey Lyles, for interning at the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro this summer. Bailey is a junior marketing major from Atlanta, GA, and she currently serves on the Alpha Delta Pi executive board as the Director of Social Enrichment. This past month, Bailey interned with NBCU as a hospitality guide for the hundreds of guests who attended the Olympic games on behalf of NBC. All of the guests she assisted either worked for NBCU, Comcast, or other companies in the media industry who brought the Olympics to life through a variety of ways such as placing ads or hosting events during the games.
Bailey said a normal day at her internship consisted of her accompanying these guests to all of the events. She also was lucky enough to take them on excursions in Rio. Some of her favorites were going to Christ the Redeemer, Samba City, and Sugarloaf Mountain. In addition to all of the exciting tourist activities, Bailey managed many people’s entire trips in Rio from helping with transportation, ticketing, general logistics of the games, and sign ups.
“I learned a lot about how much work goes on behind the scenes to broadcast the Olympics, from how many people it takes, to how far in advance NBCU plans for the games,” Bailey said.
Anyone who knows Bailey will agree that she is a go-getter and never turns down a challenge. She is currently serving on the Atlas Business Society executive board as Vice President, and she is a student ambassador for Coca-Cola. Next summer, Bailey hopes to be exploring another big city like New York City or L.A. through an internship with any marketing agency or media company.
Bailey, UGA Greek Life is proud to claim you as one of our own, and we can’t wait to see what the future holds!
