Zetas on Top
This summer the UGA Zeta Tau Alpha chapter sent three representatives to Arizona for a national conference. President Savannah Phinney, VP1 Caroline Stroud and sophomore member Regan Lochmandy attended the event to represent the Gamma Pi chapter. All 168 Zeta chapters from around the nation were in attendance all in hopes of winning awards and gaining connections with sisters from all over the nation. One great aspect of the weekend was that each member was assigned to share a room with a Zeta member from a differing chapter. Regan Lochmandy mentioned, “My favorite memory of the weekend was rooming with a fellow zeta sister from Clemson. As I entered the convention weekend I was nervous about this aspect of the trip, but my roommate and I really hit it off and became great friends.”
This was a big year for the chapter as many big awards were up for grabs, however the entire chapter was shocked at the outcome of the weekend. ZTA took home the Helen Margaret Harris award, which recognizes the top collegiate chapter in the nation, and is the third consecutive time the chapter has been recognized for this. The entire chapter was humbled by the recognition and continues to strive for the best in all they do in the following years.
