Parking Lot Party
Each year, Sigma Kappa holds a spring philanthropy event to raise money for a cause near and dear to their hearts, the Alzheimer’s Association. Proceeds donated to this cause go towards funding for research for this incurable disease. This year on April 17th, Sigma Kappa hosted their first annual Sigma Karnival. The parking lot of the house was converted into an unrecognizable attraction. The event consisted of many attractions- a dunk tank, face painting and balloon artists, a stilt walker, a petting zoo, local artists, Athens band Doobie and the Goats, and much more. The women also promoted the bulldog nation at the event with an appearance of Hairy Dawg and UGA cheerleaders, in addition to raffling off footballs signed by Kirby Smart. Members reached out to invite more than just their campus, but also children and families from local schools, churches and other clubs. With the help of the Athens community and all who attended, the women raised over $11,000 dollars for their philanthropy! Sigma Kappa is so excited to see the event grow and continue to be successful in the coming years!
