Delta Phi Epsilon Spotlight
This past week, the Psi chapter of Delta Phi Epsilon at UGA celebrated its first annual ANAD week. ANAD stands for Anorexia Nervosa and Associated Disorders and is one of DPHIE’s cherished philanthropies. Each day of the week, DPHIE put together different events allowing students to relinquish their body insecurities. Monday was ‘No Makeup Monday;’ each sister encouraged other women to go out without makeup and embrace their true beauty. Tuesday, was ‘Trash Your Insecurities Tuesday’ where students could come by the tabling event in Tate Plaza and write down their insecurities on a piece of paper and toss them in the trash can. Wednesday was ‘Work it or Win it Wednesday’ and students could come by the tabling event and try to answer facts about eating disorders to win prizes. Unfortunately, due to weather conditions, Thursday’s event of ‘Try it out Thursday,’ a work out demo, had to be postponed to a later date. To wrap up the week, the first annual Candlelight Vigil was held in Memorial Hall to recognize those who have and still are struggling with eating disorders. Overall, it was a very successful week and Delta Phi Epsilon is looking forward to many more annual ANAD weeks in the future.
