Zeta Tau Alpha Spotlight
While Panhellenic love is so wonderful, it is also awesome to meet fellow sorority members from other schools. This past weekend UGA’s Zeta Tau Alpha chapter got this opportunity. They ventured to the Gwinnett Infinite Arena, along with all their fellow Zeta sisters from schools all across the state of Georgia. Thousands of fraternity women came together at the event to celebrate the organization and to recognize exceptional alumni, seniors, and chapters. Gamma Pi (UGA’s Zeta Tau Alpha Chapter) won two awards including the Most Outstanding Chapter Award for the state of Georgia as well as the Most Outstanding Chapter for fundraising. From the words of President Savannah Phinney, “Everyday our sisters go above and beyond to excel in their endeavors, whether it be internal program planning for the chapter or raising money for Breast Cancer Education and Awareness on campus! These amazing women continually raise the bar, push the limit, and do the ‘impossible’ every day and I could not be more humbled to serve as their president.” Not only was it an exciting event to celebrate all things ZTA, it was a fun day of bonding as all members of the chapter attended the day. The theme of the day was Olympics, since it has been 20 years since the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Each chapter selected a few members to participate in the events such as a track and field event and a basketball shootout. The UGA girls won their event and truly represented UGA so well!
