To Write Love On Her Arms
Mackenzie King is a junior nutrition science major from Griffin, GA. She is the vice president and co-founder of the non-profit university chapter of To Write Love on Her Arms. She founded this organization at UGA last year, and they are currently in their second semester of being an active student organization. The goal of the organization is to provide hope and connect people with help who are dealing with mental illnesses on campus. This includes reducing common stigmas toward mental illnesses on UGA’s campus. 1,200 college students, on average, lose their life to suicide each year, and it is TWLOHA at UGA’s goal to reduce this number as much as possible. They have monthly general body meetings and a community event every month. The next meeting will be held October 14th at 7:30 in the MLC!
