Barefoot on the Lawn

On September 9th, 2015, Alpha Chi Omega hosted their annual Barefoot on the Lawn event benefitting Domestic Violence Awareness. This event is held dear to every Alpha Chi’s heart because Domestic Violence Awareness is their national philanthropy. Barefoot on the Lawn is held on the front lawn at the Alpha Chi house. There was a wonderful acoustic band playing, while guests enjoyed home-cooked, made-with-love, southern food including fried chicken and mashed potatoes. All the proceeds from t-shirts and ticket sales benefited the Athens local women’s shelter Project Safe. Project Safe is a non-profit organization whose primary mission is to end domestic violence through prevention and educational programs, crisis intervention, ongoing supportive services for survivors of domestic violence and their children, and advocacy/systems change work in our community. Alpha Chi Omega women dedicate themselves to working to help end domestic violence and protecting victims. Barefoot on the Lawn is a fantastic event for a great cause.
